Volcano vaporizers are the best desktop vaporizers you can buy. They are long-lasting, safe, and backed by an excellent warranty. They also offer excellent customer service, which is a rarity today.
This Volcano Classic vs. Hybrid Vaporizer comparison will cover the basics of each model and help you decide which volcano vaporizer is best for your needs.
If you don’t have a budget for a desktop vaporizer, I recommend going straight for the Hybrid. It’s the best and newest, offering the most features, including a new whip system.
The bottom line is you can’t make a wrong choice. You will enjoy any of these vaporizers, just as I have for a decade. Read more about each of the Volcano vaporizers below.

Volcano Vaporizer Reviews
Volcano Hybrid
The Volcano Hybrid Vaporizer is the newest upgraded version of the Volcano vaporizer, and it’s honestly my most used vaporizer of any I’ve tested. It heats up much faster, offers precise temp control, and now comes with a whip option! Check out my Volcano Hybrid Review for more info.
I wasn’t sure about the whip at first, but it’s honestly a game-changer. The amount of vapor I can get through the whip with the fan assist is almost too much. You can also use the whip without the fan if that’s not your thing, but I’m extremely happy with the new system either way. I’ve also been having a lot of fun using the whip with a glass bubbler at home.
If you decide you don’t need all the features the Hybrid offers, like quicker heat-up times, quicker fill times, and a digital temperature display for precise control, the Volcano Classic is, by all means, everything you need. The hybrid redesigned the filling chamber, and it honestly adds a bit more conduction to the hybrid system. I feel like the old classic offers more of a convection heating system which slightly improves the flavor.
Volcano Classic
The Volcano Classic is the analog version of the Volcano vaporizer, and it retails for $479. You don’t get the digital temperature display, but the turn dial is still straightforward to use and allows you to set the unit’s temperature ranging from one to nine. 1 is the lowest temperature setting, and 9 is the highest.
My favorite way to vape with the classic is to start the first few bags on 5 and end the last one on level 7.
Like I mentioned above, the Classic Volcano has stood the test of time and while it might not have all the fancy features, it doesn’t exactly what you need it to do, which is get you medicated safely and quickly. The Volcano vaporizer is by far my most used vaporizer and has been for the last 10 years.
Volcano Vaporizer Breakdown
I like the Volcano Hybrid over the Classic Volcano because of the quick heat-up times and fast-filling balloons. I know it doesn’t make that big of a difference when you’re at home, but it’s nice to be able to get in a quick session without having to wait for the Volcano to heat up.
The digital display and big temp buttons allow for precise control over the temperatures you are vaping at, and the S&B app allows you to adjust all kinds of settings, like auto-shutoff times or turning on the Hybrid vape with your phone (Android Only). You can do it with the Storz and Bickel web app as well.
Price is the biggest difference here. While you don’t need all the bells and whistles the Hybrid offers, they sure are nice. In the end, my Volcano Classic has been running pretty much all day, every day, for the better part of 10 years. It’s still going strong to this day.
