The Mighty+ (Plus) is a portable dry herb vaporizer made by the company Storz and Bickel out of Germany. The Mighty+ vaporizer is best known for its unique hybrid heating system and best-in-class battery life. The Mighty+ is an upgraded version of the original Mighty vaporizer released back in 2014, and it’s one of my most used portable vaporizers.

From Buzz Danklin – I’ve reviewed over 200 portable and desktop dry herb vaporizers over the last decade. Learn why you can trust me, my reviews, and what I’m looking for when reviewing products here.
Mighty+ Quick Synopsis
I rate the Mighty+ Vaporizer a 9.38 out of 10, and it’s currently rated as the best portable vaporizer for battery life. Check out the performance by category section below for a more detailed breakdown of the Mighty+ ratings.
Storz and Bickel also manufacture the Crafty+ vaporizer, a more pocket-friendly version of the Mighty+. The Plenty Vaporizer, a plug-in type home-use vaporizer. The Volcano Classic, the original Volcano desktop vaporizer, and the Volcano Hybrid, the newest version of the Volcano with the added whip system.
My original Mighty vaporizer still works to this day. Sure, it’s been dropped a dozen times, and the battery life is nowhere near the capacity of when it was brand new, but it still works. That’s pretty much my motto when it comes to the Mighty Plus vaporizer (and all Storz and Bickel products); they just work.
The Mighty+ is my most used vaporizer because it offers above-average battery life, is extremely easy to use in single-person and group scenarios, and is the most consistent. The biggest downside to the Mighty+ vaporizer is the size. It’s hard to pocket and not easy to conceal when out and about.

Mighty Vaporizer History
The original Mighty vaporizer was released in 2014 and has been due for some upgrades for quite some time. While there are quite a few upgrades with the Mighty+ vaporizer, my favorites are the USB-C Charging, the upgraded screen brightness, and the added one-year extended warranty when you register via the Storz and Bickel website.
Here is the full list of upgrades on the new Mighty+ vaporizer:
- USB-C charging allowing to charge the Mighty vaporizer basically anywhere now.
- Mighty+ now uses Ceramic Coating vs. Aluminum on the original Mighty.
- The supercharge functionality charges 80% of the battery in just 40 minutes. (separate charger needed, roughly ~$25USD)
- Pre-set booster temp will raise the session by 27 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Heats up in 60 seconds vs. 120 seconds on the original Mighty.
- Increased screen brightness and vibrance.
- New “legs” allow the Mighty+ to “lean back” rather than lean forward, creating a more stable platform.
- 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty + 1 Year added when you register. The original Mighty only comes with a 2-year warranty.
- New outer heatsink design for better airflow, easier to clean, and no sharp edges.
I have no doubt that this new Mighty+ will be my most used vaporizer for some time. I would also suggest looking for a reduced-priced original Mighty vaporizer for sale because it is by no means a bad vaporizer. I still used it pretty much daily up until the new release of the Mighty+ vaporizer.
I haven’t had enough time with the new ceramic coating to say whether it’s better or worse, officially. I have noticed that the chamber doesn’t seem to “cook” the herbs when not in use, but it could just be the new chamber.
Size and Portability
The Mighty+ is kind of a “BIG” deal – The Mighty+ Plus is one of the biggest portable vaporizers currently on the market. The exact dimensions are 5.5″H x 3.2″L x 1.2″D and weighs roughly 230 grams. By comparison, the Crafty+ (plus) weighs 140 grams, the Pax 3 weighs about 100 grams, and the Firefly 2+ weighs about 140 grams.
Can I Pocket the Mighty+? – The Mighty Plus is definitely not the best dry herb vaporizer for concealment. The Mighty+ can easily fit into a backpack, handbag, or a bigger purse, but it’s not the most comfortable to have in your pocket. I compare it to sticking a pack of ramen noodles in your pocket.
So I consider the Mighty+ to be a great group vaporizer and not so much for personal concealment type use. It’s very easy to hold and pass around, plus the outside remains cool to the touch. The fins on the outside act as heat sinks and allow the exterior of the vaporizer to cool no matter how you hold it.
Heating & Temperature Control
Hybrid Heating Style – The Mighty+ utilizes both a conduction and convection heating method, also known as a hybrid. This allows it to produce tasty dense vapor extremely consistently and without the need to stir.
Temp Options – The Mighty features an LED 1×1 display with easy-to-use buttons on the side to control the temp, sort of like on the Volcano Hybrid but on a much smaller scale. You can select any temperature from 105-410F at any point during your vape session. It’s nice to have that precise control for different types of herbs or just vaping at different points in the day. Different temps, different effects.
The Mighty does NOT use a smartphone app like the Crafty. You can do everything on the vape itself.
Heat-Up Time – The new Mighty+ takes about 60 seconds to heat up, which is faster than the Crafty+ but overall a bit slower than the rest of the competition. Once it gets up to temp the Mighty holds temp well even while skiing in the winter.
Chamber / Bowl Info
Mighty+ Chamber Size – The Mighty+ Plus bowl holds about .25 grams of dry herb, depending on the grind style and how you load the chamber. You can get upwards of .3 grams with a super fine grind.
I can usually vape an entire bowl in about a dozen or fewer draws which make for faster sessions than most session vapes. The Mighty+ is extremely easy to use.
Ease of Use
How-To-Use the Mighty+ Vaporizer – Press the power button to automatically begin heating to your set temp. It will show the remaining default temp, actual temp, and battery life: no holding buttons or batteries. Just wait for it to heat up, and you’re ready to go. It’s that easy.
Loading Your Mighty+ – Just load the herb, reattach the Mighty+ cooling unit, and vape on.
Also, the Crafty+ and Mighty+ have the same filling method, but the Mighty+ has a slightly larger cooling unit on top.
Battery Life and Charging
This category is where the Mighty+ shines, especially with the newly upgraded USB-C charging options! The Mighty Plus is my highest-rated portable vaporizer for battery life.
Average Battery life – I’ve been able to get an average of 8 sessions in before the battery dies. That’s 90+ minutes of average continuous use.
I’m not for sure if the Mighty+ has full pass-through charging because I don’t have the USB-C Supercharger yet. As for now, the Mighty+ can be used while charging but it seems like it’s partial pass-through, meaning it needs some battery life to charge + use. You can’t plug it in from dead and use it.
Charging Times – With the extra batteries and battery life, the Mighty+ needed some big charging power. The good news is that the new Mighty+ vaporizer uses USB-C charging and can be charged practically anywhere. The downside is that it takes roughly 3-4 hours to fully charge the Mighty+ Vaporizer via a 2A 5V brick because it’s only charging at 15 watts.
You will need to pick up the USB-C Supercharger from the Storz and Bickel website, which charges the Mighty+ to 80% in 40 minutes and much faster overall charging. The Storz and Bickel USB-C supercharger can charge at 15v 3A, which can charge the Mighty+ at 45 watts.
So while the USB-C charging is a nice feature, it’s going to take a lot longer to charge your Mighty+ if you don’t get the USB-C Supercharger or brick that can output higher charging specs.
Dosing Capsules and WPA
Dosing Capsules – The accessories are pretty standard with the Mighty+, but they did add in one dosing capsule. The “dosing capsules” are small canisters that you can throw in the chamber for “micro-dosing” with the mighty. Micro dosing allows you to only vape a small, usually specified, amount of dry herb to achieve lighter effects.
Water Pipe Adapter – You can also pick up a WPA ( Water Pipe Adapter) and some glass to use while at home. I’ve found this method extremely enjoyable to use while watching shows or playing games at home. Check out my Mighty & Crafty+ Water Pipe Adapter Tutorial for more info.
Mighty+ vs. Crafty+
The Mighty+ is really in a league of its own. This is the best vaporizer if you want the most battery life and don’t really care about the size or concealment. But because of the size, I rate the more pocket-friendly Crafty Plus vaporizer higher.
The Crafty+ Vaporizer (Crafty+ Review) is one of the best vaporizers to come to market, and I dub it the absolute best personal vaporizer. It’s easily concealed, even easier to use, and uses the same heating technology as the Mighty+.
The main differences between the Crafty+ and Mighty+ are the average battery life, size, and a slightly larger cooling unit on top. The Mighty+ has also proven to be more reliable than the Crafty+, especially under heavy use. However, the vapor quality, ease of use, and consistency are the same in both units.
It basically comes down to whether you need the portability and concealment or if you want max battery life. You can check out my full Mighty Plus vs. Crafty Plus comparison if you want more info about the two.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning – The Mighty+ isn’t the easiest vaporizer to clean overall unless you’re using the Storz and Bickel dosing capsules. The dosing capsules help lock in any loose flower and make loading the Mighty+ a lot easier. I’m not a huge fan of the dosing capsules overall, and I explain why in my vaporizer dosing capsule guide, but there’s no doubt that they will help keep your unit cleaner and, in theory, will help your device last longer.
The good news for non-capsule users like yours truly is that you can go for quite some time in between full cleanings. I personally like to buy a couple of extra cooling units for my Mighty+ and swap them around in rotation. I’ll keep a couple on hand, clean and ready to go, and just swap the cooling units when they get too dirty. Then I can come back and clean the cooling units when I have more time.
It’s important to know that the dosing capsules don’t entirely eliminate the need for cleaning. You’ll still get some resin buildup on the inside of the cooling unit, which will need to be cleaned out at some point. I’ll be making a full Mighty+ and Crafty+ cleaning tutorial soon.
Maintenance – I think the Storz and Bickel vaporizers are pretty much the easiest vaporizers on the market to maintain. They do require a decent cleaning when the time comes, but I’ve gone months without cleaning both my Crafty+ and Mighty+ vaporizers. Is it recommended? Nope. But I believe it’s a testament to the overall design and functionality of S&B products. I’ve listed a few steps below that will help keep your Mighty+ cleaner for longer.
Mighty+ Maintenance Tips:
- Always empty out the chamber immediately after a session.
- Brush out the chamber and cooling unit screen with the included brush after each session.
- Don’t overfill the chamber; brush out any loose flower around the o-rings.
- Only load the amount you think you’ll need. (dosing capsules help with this)
Warranty Information
The Mighty+ now features a 3-Year warranty when you register your Mighty Plus via the Storz and Bickel website. The Mighty+ (Plus) comes with a two-year warranty with purchase, but the extra year is exactly what the Mighty+ needed.
Mighty+ Review Summary
The Mighty+ has great vapor quality, it’s easy to use and is one of the most consistent vaporizers I’ve reviewed. You can pack the chamber in any fashion, and you will get the same great results 99% of the time. I personally still have my original Mighty from the end of 2014 and have put more hours on it than any other portable vaporizer I have.
Should you buy the Mighty+ vaporizer?
- Can you use it without having to hide it?
- Can you store it on the go?
- Do you vape with friends?
- Do you need the best battery life for long-day adventures?
If you answered yes, yes, yes, and… yes… then you will more than likely love the Mighty+ vaporizer.
If it weren’t for the large size, the Mighty+ (plus) vaporizer would be my highest-rated portable vaporizer, but it’s just not the best for all of the “on-the-go” scenarios. I prefer the smaller Crafty+ Plus for quick bike rides or events where I have limited space.
