I’ve been sitting on a lot of AVB (Already Vaped Bud) or ABV (Already Been Vaped) for a few months now and I was looking for ways that I can use it to make some type of edible. Here enter the Magical Butter (MB2e) and AVB Cannabutter.
In this article I will go over How To Make Cannabutter with AVB and then we will use the AVB Cannabutter to make Chocolate Chip cookies! I will walk you through it all completely, step by step.

The Magical Butter
The Magical Butter or “MB2e” is a cooking appliance that allows you to make cannabutter (marijuana-infused butter), tinctures, and oils very easily. You literally put in the ingredients, press two buttons and let it do its thing.
Please Note: This tutorial is showing you how to make AVB cannabutter with the Magical Butter appliance. You can definitely make AVB cannabutter without the MB2e but this appliance just makes the entire process beyond easy.
If you plan on cooking with avb/herb as a hobby, I highly recommend you pick it up. If you are just doing experiments with some leftover AVB, you probably won’t need the MB2e, but like I said, it does make it stupid easy.
Go here to pick up the Magical Butter (MB2e).
What You Need to Make AVB Cannabutter
- 4 Cups of Unsalted Butter (softened or clarified)
- ~2 Tablespoons of lecithin
- 1-6 ounces AVB (I used 6 ounces)
- Magical Butter (MB2e) Botanical Extractor
The amount of AVB you use is completely up to you. I ended up making 39 cookies, each of them with about 2.5 grams of AVB in them. If you start with just an ounce, you can still get a higher concentrated dose, you just need to make less cookies.
How to Make AVB Cannabutter
(Total Cook Time = 2 hours 30 Minutes):
Step 1: Add in the softened or clarified butter (don’t just drop the sticks in), the 2 tablespoons of lecithin and the AVB slowly while stirring to mix it all around.
*You can also Water Cure your AVB before throwing it in with the butter and lecithin but this is a 1-7 day process. Water curing will remove some of the unwanted taste/smell associated with the AVB and make the food taste better. I did NOT do it this time and the cookies came out fine but they could have tasted better.
Step 2: Once you have all the AVB and other ingredients in the Magical Butter (don’t exceed the max line), attach the lid and select 160F/71C followed by the 2 hours/Butter option.
Step 3: Go play some Overwatch for approx. 2 hours!
Step 4: Be sure to have some sort of dish to let the AVB Cannabutter drop into. I used a glass dish that has a lid.
Step 5: Throw on the LoveGlove and then pour the contents into the PurifyFilter slowly. I actually dumped the entire amount into the filter and squeezed until I couldn’t squeeze anymore. But looking back it might have been better to throw in a little bit at a time, squeeze out what you can, dump it out; throw in some more, etc…
Boom, you just made AVB Cannabutter! Woo! Ok so yes, it does smell and definitely not like roses… or good weed for that matter. But you will be able to make things that mask the smell and taste associated with the AVB.
How To Make CC Cookies w/ AVB Cannabutter
So far the number one recipe I recommend to make with AVB Cannabutter is Chocolate Chip Cookies. I used the recipe directly off the back of the Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bag. The chocolate chips pretty much completely cover up the smell and taste of the AVB and you literally can’t taste it at all if you throw some peanut butter on top of the cookie.
So the official recipe name is: “Hershey’s Classic Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies”
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 Cup AVB Cannabutter (2 sticks)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Chips
Here’s how to make Chocolate Chip Cookies with AVB Cannabutter:
Step 1: Heat oven to 375F
Step 2: Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl with mixer until creamy. This will look weird but it’s fine.
Step 3: Add eggs, beat well.
Step 4: Stir together flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Once again, it will look weird, it’s fine lol.
Step 5: Stir in the chocolate chips.
Step 6: Butter a baking sheet lightly and place the cookies on the pan. Place in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool. I put 12 cookies on the first 2 pans and 15 on the last to make 39 cookies all together.
Boom, you just made chocolate chip cookies with AVB cannabutter. Now the doses are going to vary quite a bit depending on the herb you’re using, the vaporizer you are using, the temps you vape at, if you decided to water cure or not and many other factors.
It’s extremely hard to get it down to an exact science but we figured with 6 ounces of AVB, the 1 cup of AVB cannabutter for the recipe, and ending up with about 3 cups AVB cannabutter overall, each of our cookies had about 2.5 grams of AVB in them. I ate 2 and went to sleep for 12 hours. No joke.
I definitely recommend starting out slow! Eat a half, wait a while, eat another half, see what happens. Pace yourself because the last thing you want is to be edible high and not able to come down. Trust me.
I’m going to be making some AVB Cannabutter Mac n’ Cheese next but I’m not expecting that to taste quite as good as the chocolate chip cookies. I’ll also be making some oil and I wanted to try and throw that in a smoothie. I’ll also be experimenting with different doses and amounts of AVB so lots to learn and I’ll be sure to keep posting on the blog with the results.
